Singaporeans, hopeless liao lah

Refer to this news article: http://news.asiaone.com/print/News/Latest%2BNews/Showbiz/Story/A1Story20090423-137128.html

Jackie Chan mentioned that Singaporeans "have no self respect at all". With that a few words, it immediately sparked a huge war on Jackie Chan on the Internet forums. Of course, who won't want to defend her own country. It's so rare to see so many people from all walks of life defending Singapore and rebuke back at Jackie Chan. *clap clap*

With all those harsh and mindless comments targeted back at Jackie Chan, aren't we proving that Jackie Chan is right? It's like you scold a gangster "you think you very big ar, whole day only know how to fight!" Then the gangster got agitated and reply, "where got, not happy fight lah!"

If we don't want people to comment nasty things about us, we should learn to behave ourself. There's too many example of stupid Singaporeans just by surfing around STOMP. From couples hugging while in uniform to hogging seats in food court to playing a prank in Sushi shop to staff cursing customer through email. That's not all to show that Singaporeans have no self respect. Very often, we see article that totally make no sense being posted to STOMP. From "he seems to be taking picture of me so I STOMP him first" to complaining about how people sitting on the train's floor when it's not blocking the door to anyhow snap people car and send to stomp asking "is this allowed" to snap photo liao can't even see what's the photo trying to show then anyhow fake story.

This just goes to show that Singaporeans have utterly no self-respect.

I'm not trying to show that I have alot of self-respect and bombard fellow Singaporeans. I admit that I'm lacking in self-respect too in some area. Singaporeans are too self-centered, we even need our government to educate us on kindness with courtesy campaign. I believe that it all boils down to education. In school, how important do teachers see educating subject on civic-mindedness? Teachers always see academic subject as priority. That's why. Haiz.

Good game, Singaporeans.
