Life's a Struggle

I like this song, the Flash animation, the lyrics, the real story. Everything! The link to the MV (Flash required): http://www.inhix.net/las.swf

The lyrics is very good written. In fact this song even win the Best Lyrics Award at some Taiwan music event. I'm not sure if the lyrics to song reflects his life or not but I am sure that the story at the end of the Flash MV is true. According to reliable sources, this piece of music is done by only a Eletric keyboard.

It's so sad that someone with such talent died at such a young age. Some of my internet friends dubbed him as "Jay Chou #2". No doubt about that. Luckily his music was found by his brother and parents while packing his stuff or his talent will go un-noticed.

Enough nonsense, just go download and watch the Flash MV. Somehow, my eyes got teary the first time I watched it.

Don't make your problem my problem

Get this straight: If you have a problem, don't come bugging me asking me to solve for you.

No, I'm not trying to be selfish. If you deserve the help, I will help you without you bugging me. If you are those type that don't deserve the help because you deserve the trouble, then no matter what happens, I will NOT help you.

Bottomline: Don't make your problem my problem!

Courtesy reflects yourself

Giving up seats to needy people in the MRT.
Moving in to the center of the cabin.
Standing on the left side of the escalator.
Move in to the rear of the bus so other passenger can board the bus. Saying "please", "thank you", "you are welcome", "sorry" poliety in the correct places.
Speak softly in public places.

COURTESY.

Singapore started its Courtesy campaign sometime back in 1980s. The famous lion-cat is the symbol for charity. But for some unknown reason, it's now no longer in practise. Are people still courteous?

Yesterday while I was on SBS bus number 15 to school. There is this middle-aged uncle standing at the exit door refusing to move in. There is spaced to move in. This result in some passengers unable to board the bus. Then when I was to alight the bus with other TP students, this man is still blocking the exit! I let out a loud message behind him "EXCUSE ME!". He then move slightly away from the door to allow us to alight. Selfish people causing inconvience to other people is so common in everyday life.

I'm not trying to label Singaporeans as "selfish". I have also encounter alot of pleasant incident in MRT. People giving seats to pregant woman, elderly, disabled and children. Yes, there is alot of people giving seats. Most people are also know to move in to the center of the cabin so other passengers can board the train. Courteous people will always deserve the "thank you" from the person they helped.

As for me, I always try to be as polite and courteous as possible. I don't want people writing in their blog commenting about they met a teenager with blue spectacles pretending to sleep when a pregnant lady board the train. I always keep a look out for needy people when I have a seat on the train. I don't mind standing through the trip if I can help the needy. When taking bus, I will definetly move to the rear of the bus. First, it's not so squeezy and I spare a thought for other passengers!

Okay, enough of advertisment on myself. Now it's your turn. How courteous are you in public places?

Charity, who needs it?

Yesterday as I was walking from Clarke Quay to Merlion Park, I had to walk pass 2 underpass. At the first underpass, there's this 30+ years old man playing the guitar with his marvellous voice. Real nice. Then there's a little girl sitting beside him. Upon closer look, there's nothing physically wrong with the man and his daughter.

In the eyes of most Singaporeans, this man is just trying to cheat money because he is not physically disabled. People like him should be working for some company and earn a monthly income instead of begging for money.

Why not take another view about this issue. Who would want to stand there for hours, playing the guitar and sing until sore throat just to earn that miserable amount of money. That man can just sit there, wear tattered clothes and beg for money easily. I believe that if there's job for that man to do, he will gladly take up the job offer.

Another issue is the charity issue. Don't worry, I'm not trying to criticise about the operation of the charity organisation. You see, those people who are already part of the charity organisation are already benefitting from the donations. Those who really needs help are those needy people without belonging to any charity organisation. Those are the pitiful ones.

Lastly, let me end this by asking you this question: "When was the last time you do your bit for charity sincerely?"
