Were young

We were once young. As a teenager, we like to play prank on each other, tell jokes about each other, going out together having great times. As a kid, we like to laugh at each other, help each other, running around the whole school or neighbourhood for unspokeable fun.

Mid-authum festival is the day when kids gather around at void deck or playground to show off their little lantern which couldn't even be brighter than a torch light. The playful ones would be burning their lanterns instead to feel "high". It was fun because I belong to the "playful ones".

After school, there would be water bomb session targetted at the innocent and well expected birthday boy. Remember it was so much fun even when I was just watching it at the far side of worrying the stray "bullets" while trying to capture the video.

We were young.

Everyone was once young.

However, some adult-minded big growns human can't accept the fact that kid is playful. They complain at the very little thing a kid does. Hey come on! Everyone was once a kid, playful and young. Unless you spent your 20 years of wonderful time staying in a kennel without much interaction with the outside world.

Be a little more forgiving over little matters and perhaps your day will be much better. No wonder those who always complain about every thing in life will die sooner. Me?

So what if we are bombarding water bags around? Does it matters alot to you because we don't invite you to the fun? Never played water bag when you were young? Worried that we would smash you and leave the plastic bag behind? We are far more intelligent than that.

So what if you see a bunch of kids making a mini "campfire" at the void deck? Are you worrying that the fire will spreads and burn down the whole HDB flat? Use your bloody common sense if you still have some. Not like they are burning kerosene oil or TNT chemicals.

Over-grown human with under-developed brain should just stop criticising at everything. Remember, you were once young. You once had fun. Don't vent your anger on something that makes you look stupid.

Year 2100

93 more years to year 2100. Perhaps I'm a little too anxious for counting down to the 22nd century. Does the world Doraemon lives in really exist?

Take a look back 100 years ago, year 1907. How much does it resembles the world we live in now? Can you really imagine the world in year 2100? Maybe I can.

In year 2100, the Earth will be nearly 100% destroyed and impossible for human to continue living. Maybe then we will be already living on Mars and abandon our dearest Mother Earth.

Chopping down donzens and tons of trees to make way for human recreation. People doing everything thinking only about themself. We already lack the ability to care for the most simplest reason. If this continues, we wouldn't even be able to live anymore. Everyone would be too selfish to be selfless. Help is only rendered when we are forced.

Again, technology is at fault too. The improve in technological advancement marks the degrade of the mankind. Everytime the technology goes for for another extra step ahead, we are slowly shaming ourself. It was the time where singing could earn you big bucks; now, MP3s download are everywhere on the Internet. You don't need special skills or tough effort to get it. Now with blu-ray and HD-DVD, what's next in store for us? Who knows we might be watching high definition pornographic video on the HDTV in the future. We can also effortlessly store up to 50GB of pirated contents into a blu-ray disc.

We are only constantly destroying this beautiful Earth we live in. With the decreasing amount of trees and forest, how long more can we survive. The global warming is a global warning that the Earth is signalling us. The sun is shining gracefully on your head and the next moment, it's a thunderstorm!

With all the funny things that happen around us for no definite reason, how can we expect the virtual world of Doraemon to be a reality. It's already a blessing that we still can live on Earth on 2100.

Maybe it's high time we start thinking of improving ourself instead of improving the technology.

Will my blog survive the crisis till 2100? If yes, this would be an ancient historic piece of creation by the people from the 21st century.

Hello 2100. Anyone there?

Secret

Follow the notes upon the journey
At first sight marks one's destiny
Once the voyage comes to an end
Return lies within hasty key

The movie by Jay Chou is nice, go watch it if you haven't. Anyway, I'm not going to discuss about this movie.

Everyone has secret. Some has more. Of course, I won't be blogging about my secret in my blog as it's suppose to be a secret. If I go around telling everyone about it, it wouldn't be a secret anymore.

Sometimes, I do give an impression to others that I have alot of secrets. It's not the case. Just ask me and I will tell you the things you desire to know. I don't choose to go around telling other people about things. Those things I tell on my blog is meant for you to know. Those that I didn't mention means I don't feel like saying but you can ask me about it.

At certain time, certain place or certain event will triggers lots of thoughts for my brain. At times, I just feel like having alot of feelings to something but I don't feel like saying it especially when in a group when there might be retards going around broadcasting it with false information.

Even if I tell you something, please don't go around spreading it. If I tell you means I trust you to have the ability to know it. Those who desire to know should just ask from me instead of digging and guessing from nowhere.

As for my secret. If you happen to hit the nail, I will just give you a random false answer to cover up for my secret. I'm sure everyone is the same. Afterall, secret is something which you don't want others to know or probe much into.

Actually I don't have many secrets as compared to most other people. After the counting and deducting, I think I only have one secret. The rest of the unknown things about me, I don't deem it as secret.

If you belong to the reporter type that goes around reporting news and spreading false information, please exit from my life.

Shhhh....

Listen

Can you listen?

A: Listen to me.
B: NO! Listen to me!
A: Listen to me first!!

An argument of conflict usually occurs when the parties involved doesn't listen to what others have to say.

That's the problem with the people today. We don't listen; we just like to talk on and on whenever there's something in our mind. Of course, someone has to do the talking while other someone has to do the listening.

Of course, I can understand the frustration Zihui experienced because no one wants to listen to her on why she choose the job she like despite a lower salaray.

I seriously don't know why. Those blabbering faster than Jay Chou rapping always think that the whole world wants to listen to them. In actual fact, it's just that sometimes in a group, we just give in.

In a group, there will be the quieter one too. I belong to the quiet one. Not because I don't like to engage in discussion but because usually I'm too slow in responding. I need time to process what people say and generate what I should say. If I happen to be replying faster in online messenger, it's because I'm replying nonsense.

Honestly speaking, I'm a good listener. No that I'm boasting about myself but it's the truth. I enjoy listening to people confiding in me about their problems and sharing with me their joys. Are you a good listener?

Listening is a pleasure. If you put in more attention in listening to the little things around you instead of MP3s, you will definitely notice something different. Do you feel the peace?

So, stop talking and start listening.

Majulah Singapura

Do you understand the pledge? Do you understand our national anthem?

If you don't understand the meaning behind the pledge and the national anthem, you should seriously move yourself to another country which you can understand.

HAPPY
BIRTHDAY
SINGPAORE!

42 years of independence isn't something we should be contented with but it's something we should be proud with. It's our forefather that worked so hard to build up Singapore from scratch and it's us to maintain it.

Many people (biased view and no satistics) dislike singing national anthem because it's too monotonous. I guess most country's national anthem are boringly slow. You can't expect R&B and rapping in an anthem right?

As for pledge, most people (biased view and no satistics too) are just reciting it without truly comprehending the meaning behind it. What to do. National education is a failure.

This year NDP is very different other than the fact that I'm still watching it 'live' from my television set.

Because our dear National Stadium is tearing down to make way for a new sports complex, NDP this year is held at Marina. Singapore is proud to introduce the world largest floating platform. At first I was worried that the floating platform will collapsed but Singapore indeed live up to its high engineering standard.

Not being able to join in the celebration with the other crowd is indeed a waste. Blame it on the balloting system that didn't gave me the tickets. Squeezing with other human along Marina and Esplanade is not my type. Nevertheless, it's exciting to watch it on TV too!

Majulah Singapura!

The tin and stickers

1. "Hi, would you like to make a donation."
2. "Donate please."
3. *smile*
4. *stuff the donation tin into your face blocking your way*

I'm very sure you will have this kind of forced donation experience unless you are the type that stay at home all day.

Honestly, I don't find it irritating even if they block my way with a smile while I'm alighting from a bus at the bus terminal. Cannot blame them actually because they have to do it from the command and order of the school and the charity organisation.

School forcing students to come back during weekend to do hard labour for the charity organisation because they want good reputation. The students of course have no choice but to slack around while some hardworking ones go around appealing for donations.

Do you donate?

I do when I have coin.

Why do you donate?

I guess the reason with every donater is the same.

Usuaully we just want to buy a sticker by putting a little money into the donation tin. After buying it, we would then proudly and carefully keep the sticker for the rest of the journey. This is like an "admission pass". With this little round sticker, you will no longer be asked for another donation.

Would you have the mindset of "do charity" when you are putting your coin into the tin? Most of the time you are just playing along with the student seeing them pleading helplessly for donations. You don't even bother to ask which school they from, the money will benefit which organisation, how will the money be use or more. We are just blindly inserting money into tin in exchange for a sticker.

Then of course, there will be "act smart" people going around asking for fake donations. These people are bastards because they abuse on human's sympathy to boost their income. Hat off to those who manage to find out the truth and report them to the authorities.

That's my tin and stickers story.

Friend

After reading Ben's blog on "Do u believe that everyone that come into your life", I have been thinking about it for months because I agree with him.

For every person that enter your life, they happen for a reason and you will learn something from it.

Take a look at your Friendster or messenger's list of friends; how many of them are really your friend, how many of them changed your life (even a little bit counts), how you added/accepted them into your friend list.

Remember when you first step into a new social circle, how did you start making friend?

Going through my list of known friends, every friend indeed do make a difference to my life. Some left a huge meteorite, some are just stones hitting the ground. However the impact, it's still an impact. No wonder they say that you will turn bad when you mix with bad company.

"Known friends" means friends that you have met in real life or really really close. Not those whom added you just for fun or wanting you to send him songs.

I'm glad that I have good friends that motivates me, console me, provokes me and despise me so I can be the Jerry Wong today.

Recalling all those who once left their footprint on my life, it's really a learning journey for me and every footprint has a story and lesson.

Although sometimes I might sound nasty, irritated and angry, I still treasure our friendship. I hope you do treasure too. Afterall, which human being won't get angry. Please don't read it as an excuse.

Of course, I hope that my appearance in your life has somehow changed you, helped you and taught you a new lesson too.

I fail at running (update: 29 Aug)

My worst sports got to be running. I can't run and I always fail at running long distance. I think I only pass my 2.4KM run once during secondary school. I'm a failure at this because of my short stamina.

Since young, doctor always say that I should train my stamina because of my short stamina. That's why I have problem with swimming and blowing flute. Not that I can't do it but just that my stamina is hindering the perfect note.

Counting from 2 Aug 07 to 15 Sep 07, it will be another 44 days until I enter army. So starting from today (yes immediately today), I will start to run around my neighbour Tampines Street 21 to build up my physical. Although it's not a long distance, but it's tiring for me. The distance is about 1.4KM which I have a huge problem completing it.

Keep track of this page to see my daily update on my running.

02 Aug
Ran a distance of 1241m (1.2KM) at 9min 45sec.

Sigh~ At this rate, how am I suppose to complete my 2.4KM run within 10 mintues.
