Joke?

Joke is a length of words that is said to make people laugh and get happy.

Although "Joke" has the meaning of "To make fun of; tease", as stated in www.dictionary.com, I cannot agree with this definition. If a joke is harmful to someone in the situation, you should think twice before saying it. Not everyone can take joke especially if the joke is near to a personal insult. No one will like it.

My friend Louis commented, "If you want to joke about other people, prepared to get joked about too". His comment is targetting about Bao Fa actually. Yeah, if you like to joke about other people, it is very fair if people joke back about you. If you don't like people to joke about you, don't even bother starting to joke about other people.

I hate it when people just go around making defaming speech about another friend which then claimed to be joke. Would you like to hear your friend "joking" about such things about you?

Another thing I want to say is "stupid people say stupid thing". This is suppose to be in a new entry but I combined them together they are relevant.

Why does people like to make (retarded) comments when they are not retarded at all?

When you buy new handphone, they would ask "what happen if I drop it?" (of course it will spoil)

When you buy new shoes, they will ask "can I step on it?" (try asking yourself that)

When you are having lunch and saw someone familiar, they will ask "having lunch?" (isn't that obvious?)

I can't think of anymore at the moment. If you happen to know more idiot quotes, let me know. I will update this.

If the above blue text is meant as a joke, then let it be. Maybe I don't understand black humour.

Religion matter

This post is about religion matter, not about religion matters. Don't ask what's the difference. Go figure. I hope this post won't ignite the flame between different religions.

Summary of this topic: No one should be forced into joining a particular religion.

In Singapore, everyone has the right to choose his/her religion. But some parents are forcing their children to follow their religion. They don't allow their children to have a freedom of religion. This is so wrong of the parents.

I also experienced countless times when church volunteers came up to my door to promote Christanity. Why are they doing this? I seriously don't understand why. It's not like the more member they have, the better they seem to be.

Now talk about my family. (I know I seldom blog about my family but this time exception) Guan Yin Ma statue at my house. My father is the only one in the family feeding the statue. My grandmother only feeds "her" on special occasion. I asked them what religion to they belong to. My grandmother says "I don't belong to any religion, I am just praying." My mother says "Don't know. Not cult anyway". My father says "Although I pray everyday, I don't believe in religion."

What is wrong with them? Giving me such an amusing answer. If they don't believe, why do they even pray? Okay, I didn't ask them that because I tend to respect people's decision for doing things. Since you choose this path, you walk the road.

Luckily my parents didn't force me into any religion. I still hate those people who asked me to convert to another religion. If you are such person and you are reading this, please press ALT+F4 now and go die.

Hopefully I don't marry a girl which requires me to convert to another religion. If I really meet such a girl, then I guess it's fate.

Comprehend Me

For those sharp eyes that has noticed, I changed my blog title. This is the first time I changed my blog title. Why do I change? Because I want people who don't understand me to read my blog. Read my blog to understand me. Comprehend me.

What prompted me to write this entry immediately is that more people don't understand me. Am I so hard to understand? I don't hide anything from my friends or my family. I won't try to hide my feelings or do something behind their back. I present myself in my truest form yet I'm not easy to understand.

If you find me hard to understand, read my blog more. Read from the first entry to my latest entry 100 times then perhaps you will understand me. The reason that I don't update often is that I want to make sure my post is of good quality, not just nonsense spamming. Take time to read my entry and understand my message.

Comprehend me. It's not that hard actually.

Are you happy?

According to a recent survey, we ranked LAST in Asia in terms of happiness. The first is Vietnam.

I was shocked but not surprised by the result. I didn't expect Singapore to be ranked last in survey result but since it's a "happiness survey", I'm not surprised.

Are you happy? Are we happy? At least we are not very sad to be ranked last. It might be due the the excessive work load we are having. Stress. We need to stress about almost everything in life. Work or school, there's stress. Everyone has stress, how to be happy? We can't even enjoy the simple thing in life such as taking a stroll at the reservoir in the morning or enjoying the moonlight at night. In the morning, we would be too busy to rush off to our work. At night, we will be in our bed trying to sleep with all the troubles and stress in our mind. Maybe that makes us unhappy.

Vietnamnese are the happiest group of people in Asia according the survey. Maybe it's because they are leading a simpler life than us. They need not worry about too much thing. No wonder people says "a simple life is a happy life". But how can we lead a "simple life"? We are Singaporeans. If we are leading a too simple life, our future may just be ruined.

How many of us are really happy? It's not easy to say that we are happy.

Idol mania

I remember some time back, my uncle and my brother is debating what makes an idol. Actually this topic started because my brother is complaining that Chen Wei Lian (the blind man who won the Superstar title) is not fit to be an "Idol" or "Superstar".

My brother says that it doesn't matter if your singing is nice or not, as long as you are good looking, you can be a superstar. So he conclude that Chen Wei Lian is not fit to be a superstar.

My uncle then says that a superstar need not be good looking or has a nice voice, as long as people like him, he's a superstar. Recording company are basing on that to earn money. If more people like you, means more people will buy your CD. Thus he conclude that Chen Wei Lian is fit to be a superstar because he won the title with the most number of calls (obviously).

So, what makes a superstar? Money. Although you may won the title "Superstar" with the most number of calls, but does that makes you a popular person? It may be just one rich person sending numerous SMS just to make you win. Even if you lose, there's nothing to be sad because obviously your fans are not rich enough to donate the money to MediaCorp.

Hey MediaCorp, please end this money-making tricks. We do not need any more idol in a small country. We are contended with Ah-Do, Tanya Chua, Stefanie Sun and JJ Lim. Any more idol springing up from no-where will just spoil the market.

Yeah, we know that you (MediaCorp) need money. Spare a tought for us too OK?

Childhood

Actually I wanted to write an entry on this topic a long time ago but I keep forgetting about it. After reading Joy's blog, I have decided to write this entry now.

According to www.dictionary.com, childhood means "the period of life between infancy and puberty". Everyone deserved a childhood. A good one.

I'm happy that my parents and family gave me such a wonderful childhood. I only started schooling at the age of 5. That may seems normal but more children are starting school earlier. Everyday is a fun-filled day. Run around the house, run around the corridor, run around the flat, run around the neighbourhood just like nobody business. Play from sunrise to sunset. No need to worries about anything. Weekend was more fantastic! My uncles and aunties would visit me (as I'm the only child in the whole family then) and bring me to all sort of places such as beach, bowling center, McDonalds and other places that I can't remember. I really appreciate that. Thank you for giving me such a nice and wonderful childhood.

Not everyone got the childhood life they wanted.

My life change when I was 8yrs old..
Studying on the weekdays.
Working on the weekends.
Where was my childhood?

-- Quoted without permission from Joy's blog.

I don't know. I wanted to say that working is part of childhood experience too and it's valuable because not everyone has such a childhood. NO! I realise that this is not right.

Working is a job for adult, not child. Further more, child labour is considered illegal in Singapore. Every child should have the freedom to speak, freedom to express and freedom to play.

Childhood life in Singapore is way better than those in Africa or other 3rd world countries. Recently read an email article showing how poor Africa kids are. You may complain about eating fish burger daily but they never get enough food to eat. You may complain that schooling is "sian" (boring), they never dread learning new stuff.

Kids nowadays certainly have better childhood life now and they tend to abuse it. Once I saw a child throw away a bun which he took only a bite to the floor saying that the food taste "ugly". WHAT THE HECK! Give you food to eat and you are there complaining? Appreciate.

I remember reading in a magazine that "you only spend about 12 or 13 years being a children and the rest of your life being an adult. So don't rush to grow up." I can't agree more. After all, childhood means "the period of life between infancy and puberty". Enjoy your childhood while you can, you will never be able to travel back in time and enjoy it again.

Every child deserves a well deserved childhood.
