Just face the facts

Sometimes, we just like to bend the facts and make it seems like we are so tolerant.

Who says that looks doesn't matter? Two girls of same quality, one is uglier, one is prettier. Of course you will take an extra glance at the prettier girl, right? Same goes for girls choosing boys. Man with better looks or figure is always ranked higher than those nerdy looking man. Now, admit that looks do matter.

Who says that money is not important? There are other things more important than money. I say, money plays a very important part in everyone life. If not true, why do we work? Why do my parents work? Money is as sensitive as foreskin, so skip this.

Who says that time is not to be wasted and we should treasure it. So many rich people wasting their time doing nothing while their employed maid do all the task. Isn't that time wasting? 1/3 of our life is spent sleeping. Another 1/3 is spent doing work. The last 1/3 is spent doing meaningless things. How often do you sigh the word "sian" or "boring"? Treasure time?

Who says that you will get rewarded for being good? How many of the "good" people actually died tragically? The only reward they get is that they are being featured in the news.

Who says that you cannot get into another relationship when you are attached? Come on, you are still single. Give the world a chance. Some people treat their girlfriend/boyfriend as a trademark item that they will get so agitated when other people talk to him/her. Face the facts, you are not owning a piece of property.

Who says that blog writing is for girls only? Human male species can't write blog? Hey, blog is just another medium for human to communicate. If you think blogging is for girl, then you should dig your head for some basic intelligence.

Who says that school's TAF club is to help student reduce weight and maintain their health? Is school really things for their student? Think! They are doing so just to boost their school fame so that the school can be advertised as "100% passing rate in O level and NAPFA, 0% obese".

Too many things to be listed. Feel that sometimes, people don't do what they say, alot of things are hidden. Things so easily said but it's actually bullshit.

Stop hiding, just face the facts.

LOUSY school in Singapore

I AM HELL LOTS OF ANGRY NOW!
ARGH!!!

If I were Jack Neo, I would make a movie about it too! Just follow rules.

Ever wonder why are Singaporeans are labelled as stupid in the world? It's because we have stupid people to lead us. The rule of book is god-like, everyone must follow and obey it with no exceptions. A hell of craps.

My brother got his handphone confiscated in class yesterday. Ultimately, this causes an uproar from our family towards his school, East View Secondary School.

The rule states that student can bring handphone to school but it must not be seen or heard. They will not conduct spot check to purposely confiscate handphone.

What happened? It was Chinese lesson and there is this new female teacher who doesn't wants to teach. Instead, she brings a radio with CD player and decides to play the CD. The CD is about the teaching content. Unluckily for her, the radio doesn't works so the teacher decides to have a break and not continuing with the lesson. The teacher then instruct student to do self study.

Self study? Come on! Why did my parents pay school fee in the first place? It's for teachers to teach and educate. Not self study. If self study is useful and effective, my parents would rather save the money and have my brother to "self study" at home instead. Does the teacher take us as a fool?

My brother then lend his handphone to his classmate because they want to see. Okay, you might argue that he is in the wrong. What is so wrong about him using handphone when the teacher isn't doing her job? Then his handphone got spotted by the lazy teacher and got confiscated. Obviously, what the teacher want is credits from the principal and other higher ranked staff because she's new to the school.

Want credits? Just do a good job in teaching! Not by doing stupidly redundant things to boost your fame. It's only going to backfire. Do you think you can get away with "self study" style of teaching? Come on, the Ministry of Education is not stupid too.

And so, my mother and I took turn to call the school hoping to speak with the principal. We made our call since 3pm+, principal is having a meeting till 6pm. When it's near 6pm, we call again to ensure that the principal has not left the school yet. However, the big-shot principal is still having his meeting. We called again at 6pm, the lady told us that he is still at meeting. Fine, we called back 10 minutes later at 6:10pm. The principal has left -.-

WOW? We waited more than 2 hours just to bid the principal farewell? The lady answering our call didn't even bother to ask us to leave a message.

Not giving up hope, we called the school early the next morning at 8.30am. I seriously had no idea what's so busy with him that I have to left my contact details for him to call me back. Finally, I received the call back at 10.14am. Talking about efficiency.

During the 8 minutes and 21 seconds of conversation, Mr Ee the principal obviously doesn't want to listen to our side of explanation and what we have to say. It's all about him saying "sorry we got to follow the rule, please understand that". If you really stand by the rule, please investigate on the lazy female teacher too. Of course, the principal is not interested in what we have to say and things got abit heated up.

Things was not like before. During orientation, the principal says that parents and school have to work together to excel. (Include other nonsense here.) Now, it's all about parents got to listen to the school way of nonsense. Where is the part that parents giving suggestion and feedback to school? The school is now treating the parents as "pay-money-and-shut-up" only.

Some schools in Singapore allow student to bring handphone to school and use it to communicate with teachers regarding academic stuff. I questioned the principal whether East View Secondary School teaching staff does not want to teach more after school hours. What do you think? The principal says "we are not up to the standard yet, sorry". Not up to the standard?! East View Secondary School is providing students with "not-up-to-the-standard" teachers?!

What anger me most is that he just go "sorry, good bye" and hang up the call to end the conversation. Is that very polite? If you think that as long as there's "good bye" to the ending sentence, it's okay. I disagree. Just imagine the "sorry, good bye" situation. What is this school trying to say now? That's how we teach students, if you regret anything, it's your problem.

Too bad, I regretted.

Why did I bother to make so many calls in an attempt to talk to the principal and got hanged up. The principal didn't even try to understand and listen to our side. Take me as a fool or an robot answering machine?

If I want to feedback to the school, what can I do next? E-mail? My letter might get thrased and comes the automated reply "thanks for emailing us".

Thanks for reading my experience on lousy school in Singapore.

Girlfriend

My dear mum is curious about why I don't have a girlfriend. HAHA! Either she's worried that I'm gay or I'm unwanted. Well, obviously I'm unwanted.

My mum says she has no objection on me not getting married, married but not giving children, having Indian or France girlfriend, multiple life partners. That's what she say when I asked but I doubt so.

The two brothers of mine says they might get married but will not take the responsibility of raising a child. They commented that educating a children takes too much effort and money. Selfish?

How odd teenagers see marriage nowadays. How odd my mum see relationship. My mother has no objection about my youngest brother having a girlfriend despite he is still schooling secondary 3. And so, he let out a cheer "yeah! You say one hor!". o.O She is also very nice towards my brother's girlfriend. It's like she's already a part of our family.

I don't like my brother's girlfriend. Where is the logic of coming to your boyfriend house and heading to the room straight? Can't wait to get laid? Sorry, I'm too crude. Since we brothers are so united that we share a bedroom, we are often confinded outside the room when the couple is having their time inside. I don't know what happened inside but loud music can be heard near the sound-proof door. When I need to get something, I have to knock the door and wait paitently for someone to serve me. What will other eyes see the girl?

As for my another brother, the youngest one. He is quite popular with girls too, I think. A girl once ask me to help her pass present to my brother. WOW?! So shy to pass it directly to him? Come on. I know my brothers are more handsome than me thus I'm easier to approach? I didn't know shy girls find ugly man easier to talk to.

Me? Still waiting. My friend says I should visit the pub more to know more girls. The problem is I belong to the 1930s type. You should know what that means. Friendster is not a good place to search for partner of course. Pictures can be deceiving.

To me, look is really not important. Afterall, everyone will age and die. Why do I impose the criteria of looks when I cannot confirm it's forever and that criteria cannot be found on me.

Someone who can understand me, I can understand her.
Someone who is comfortable with me, I'm comfortable with her.

Love takes two hands to clap and one hand to slap.
Breaking up or divorcing your loved one will only make either party miserable.

Sky long, earth long.

Someone is who?

drink drank DRUNK

This is just another "listen-to-my-stubborn-comment" entry just like any other entries of mine.

I seriously don't know why people like to drink and make themself drunk. Do they really think being a clown is an entertaintment to friend? I would say that making a fool of yourself means I will regard you as a fool.

Being drunk, you are only causing more displeasure to people around you. Taking care of a drunkard is worse than taking care a baby.

In an experiment, 2 pieces of pig liver is soaked in a bowl of plain water and alcohol separately. 10 minutes later, the liver that is in the alcohol is hardened while the liver that is soaked in plain water still remains soft. As goes, this experiment proved that common sense is right. Since the outcome is common sense, why do people still do things that goes against their common sense?

Actually, I don't oppose the drinking of "liver-hardening" (alcoholic) drink at all. Drinking of not-so-strong alcoholic drink such as Tiger Beer or Calsberg once in a happy moon is fine. Yeah fine. But if you crossed the line of over-dose, then you deserve the outcome. Don't come sobbing to me next time and tell me that you regret not heeding my advice and regard my blog entries as crap. I will simply regard you as a piece of junk crap that is ready to be scrapped.

So, the next time if you want to drown your sorrows or be a foolish clown, think again.

You never have more than enough life to squander away.

3 years of life in Temasek Polytechnic

So fast eh? It feels just like yesteday when we stepped into Temasek Polytechnic for orientation.

The first thing Hui Ting said to me after one of the lecture was "you were the one that ran away on the first day of orientation right?" Darn, left a bad impression on her. Yeah, my friends and I plan to skipped the first day of the boring orientation due to it's.... boring! How fun can orientation be other than eating Carona chicken rice. Camps such as orientation is all about cheers and cheers. So stupid and boring. I wonder when will the camp guides grow some intelligent cells in their brain. Even the games are of the same everytime. That's why I skipped. Attended the second day of orientation because I need the timetable without knowing I can actually obtain it online.

F409 is really a great and fun class to be in. Imagine there is people like Victor to scold Ruey Hong everytime they meet. Imagine there is people like Han Wei to organize chalets and get things done. Imagine there is people like Wee Khiang to share with us his NS encounters. Imagine there is people like Charles who show you how to eat a huge serving of rice. Imagine there is people like Edwin that speaks chinese. Imagine there is people like Joy to speak up for the class. Imagine there are people like Wendy and Elvin attending TP's fashion show. Imagine there are people like Cindy and Hui Ting to give tips for every exam. Imagine there is our CP that pops in and out at the most unexpected time. With F409, it's not hard to imagine.

Over the years, parterned with lots of classmates for various project. Parterned with almost everyone except Charles. Come to think of it, I don't know why. I admit that I am the lazy type when it comes to doing group project. When in a group, I will console my mates that "cannot do nevermind lah". So I decided to do something on my own. That's why I decided to solo the CGP (computer game programming) project. Well, it was tough as I need to behold all the actions that is supposed to be brained by 2 person. It's a challenge; I love it.

Times of rushing slowly to the next lecture, times of queuing up to bind project report, times of chatting during lessons, times of deciding what to eat for break, times of squeezing the lift but trying not to activate the overweight alarm, time of celebrating birthday for each other, times of the badminton session during MP/SIP, times of working together. Times of our life.

TP is indeed a nice place to study. Wi-fi here wi-fi there, a great place to go online too! A great place to eat (especially Mensa with nice view). A great place to learn and excel. I have definitely learnt alot in TP.

Some things remains unchange. i-Hub is still the same, disliked by us, liked by most. I wonder what is i-Hub doing actually. Organizing event that collect $10 per team (or person) and give out funny prize? Since i-Hub belongs to IFC, it's part of our life in TP too although I don't want to feel its existence. Of course, no offense to i-Hub members here. If you feel offended, please don't feel offended.

3 years. Too long an entry to write everything into words. I can't possibly recall everything and type it out.

Life in TP is more than just the people in F409. Intersting people from other classes spice up the fun. Haha, don't wish to type out a list of names but you know who you are. If you know who is Jerry, you are one great person that makes my up TP life. Newly edited to add this image as Zihui wants me to write about her. So here's the picture:

So fast. Soon we will be going our own way. For the ladies, it's working time unless you plan to further your studies. For the gentlemen, it's time to serve the nation with unwilling mood.

How many more wonderful 3 years of friends can I get? Yes, like what Han Wei says, we will meet again. Please point your browser to Han Wei's blog for the nice song. When's there a reunion 10 years later, remember to invite me. I will try to apply for a day off from my toilet washing duty to attend it. Don't say I always don't join you people for outings. It's just that I don't see the need and sometimes I foresee that the outing might be boring.

You know you miss me when you start to recall how stupid I was.

The end is just the beginning of another chapter.
